Privacy Statement

Belgian Quidditch Federation processes personal data about you and/or your child, because you and/or your child use our services and/or because you provide us information either via creating a profile, written or electronic correspondence and/or telephone contact.

Your privacy and trust are highly important to us, so we make every effort to protect your data and treat it confidentially.

Belgian Quidditch Federation processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To allow you to create and manage an account
  • Registering your membership and registration

Belgian Quidditch Federation also processes personal data, which we are ‘need’ to do in our race to recognition as a subsidized sports federation.

Belgian Quidditch Federation does not sell your details to third parties and will only provide them if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you and/or to comply with legal obligations.

With companies that process your data in our assignment, we conclude a processor agreement to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data.

Mapping website visit

During a visit to our website, cookies can be placed on the hard disk of the visitor’s computer. This with the sole aim to better tailor the site to the needs of the visitor. Cookies are never being used to check the surfing behaviour of the visitor on the other websites. Every internet browser allows you to prevent or change the use of cookies (with warning, limited, etc). Consult the help function of your internet browser for more info.

In addition to the different types of cookies, a strictly necessary (otherwise unused) PHP cookie is always placed. Without this cookie, the website can not function normally.

We use functional cookies to optimise the functionality of certain pages of the website. As a result, some choices do not have to be filled out again and again.

We use tracking cookies to measure the performance of our website and to improve it afterwards. We use Google Analytics. It registers the number of visitors and tells us more about the general surfing behaviour, such as the duration of a visit to the website or the number of pages a user views on average.

Data from people under 16 years of age

We only intentionally collect information from people younger than 16 years old via the creation of an account on our website and that are necessary to process your registration.

If a visitor who is younger than 13 years old creates an account, the minor must submit contact details of the parent or legal guardian of that minor. The Belgian Quidditch Federation will contact the parent digitally to make sure no data of the minor are processed adherent to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If the data has been submitted without the consent of the parent or legal guardian, or the parent or legal guardian does not reply within 7 days, the data will be removed immediately.

Our website does not intend to collect data about website visitors who are younger that 16 years. However, we can not check if visitors are older than or equal to 16 years of age. We encourage parents to be involved in the online activities of their children, to prevent data about children being collected without parental consent.
