The Belgian Quidditch Federation wants to inform you about the first general information about the Belgian Quidditch Cup 2017, also know as BelQC.
Date and time
The tournament will take place on November 5, 2017. It will start approximately at 8.30 AM. All players and volunteers will be required to be present at approximately 8 AM, and checked in before 8.20 AM. The exact time schedule will be communicated at a later time.

Metro station Vandevelde is only 7 minutes away from the actual fields. Metros leave about every 15 minutes from Brussels-Central train station.
Around the complex, there are approximately 150 parking spots. These can be found in the Struykbekenweg and the Albert Dumontlaan.
We will be using 2 football fields and a rugby field. Both football fields will have soft artificial grass. The rugby field will be used for warming up, and will be regular grass. The exact rulings on what isn’t allowed on the artificial grass will be communicated later.
Participating Team must pay a sign up fee of €50.
There will also be an player fee of €5.
Participating Teams must sign up through the following link and through BQF Match Center. Both tasks, including the payment of €50 team fee, must be done by October 13th. See the earlier link for all payment details.
Volunteers & Officials
All participating teams will have to provide an amount of referees and volunteers based on a point system.
League Teams must reach min. 10 points.
Developing Teams must reach min. 4 points.
- Each volunteer is worth 1 point. The volunteer will either be assigned scorekeeping, timekeeping of goal refereeing.
- Each IQA Certified Snitch- and/or Assistant Referee is worth 2 points.
- Each Snitch is worth 2 points. Each Snitch must be a IQA Certified Snitch Referee.
- Each IQA Certified Head Referee is worth 3 points.
A volunteer and officials sign up form will be published later.
Schedule & Gameplay
The gameplay format used for this tournament will be a variant of a Double Elimination Bracket. Each Team will have at least 3 games each. The 7 teams from last season’s Belgian Quidditch League are already seeded. The remaining teams who sign up will be randomly seeded by a draw. This draw will take place on October 18th.
